Detroit government bid and proposal help
Bidding on Detroit-area government work? Get every requirement right.
Southeast Michigan has a deep mix of public buyers: the City of Detroit, Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb county governments and schools, and a large federal and defense presence. We help Detroit-area small businesses read those solicitations, build a cited compliance matrix, and draft the response, all for flat fees.
City of Detroit contracts
The City of Detroit’s Office of Contracting and Procurement advertises bids on its Bonfire bidding portal (free to register), and uses its Oracle supplier portal for contracts, purchase orders, and invoicing after award. Things we watch for on Detroit bids:
- Required affidavits and certificates uploaded with the response. A missing form can sink an otherwise good bid.
- Detroit Business Opportunity Program certification through the City’s Civil Rights, Inclusion and Opportunity Department (CRIO). The City says a valid certificate must be uploaded with your bid to get local preferences, so apply early.
- Commodity codes on your portal profile, which drive the bid invitations you receive.

Federal and defense work around Detroit
Metro Detroit is home to the Army’s Detroit Arsenal in Warren, Selfridge Air National Guard Base, a VA medical center, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Detroit District, plus a large automotive and defense supplier base. Their buys are posted on SAM.gov. Federal RFQs and RFPs reward careful reading: section L instructions, section M evaluation factors, FAR and DFARS clauses, and representations you certify.
Our sample matrix shows how we break a real federal RFQ down, requirement by requirement.
Suburban cities, counties, and schools
Outside the City of Detroit, many southeast Michigan municipalities, townships, and school districts post on the MITN Purchasing Group. Each buyer has its own forms, insurance minimums, and due-time rules, and those details are where bids get thrown out. Send us the solicitation number and we’ll tell you what it takes.
